One family reigns above all others in the Crescents: The Dawnwalkers. The Dawnwalker family was founded by Veladriel Dawnwalker hundreds of years ago. It quickly rose to power after Veladriel claimed to be the prophet of the sun god, and ushered in an era of feudalism for the sun elves.
The Dawnwalkers are an enigmatic, beloved, powerful dynasty full of expert bladedancers and sun priestesses. They also have a connection to dragonkind.

Veladriel Dawnwalker, Founder of Verunism, Goddess, Former Imperatrix
Veladriel is regal, confident, and intimidating. She is married to the charismatic Ahellion, an imposing man who matches her ambition to rule. Veladriel pursued divinity for hundreds of years. Wars, calamities, and other great events shaped the world while she and Ahellion’s influence slowly crept across the continent. Eventually, Veladriel became a patron saint, Chosen of the sun god, and finally sacrificed much to become a goddess and reform Verunism.
Ahellion Dawnwalker, Founder of the Vestian Empire, Former Imperator
Ahellion is the finest bladedancer in all the Crescents who developed his own fighting style, martial discipline, and administrative control of the Vestian Kingdom. He was instrumental in forming the Empire, and led the sun elf armies for hundreds of years. Ahellion is a pureblood dragon, although his acquisition of a dragon soul came after his children (thus his children are sun elves).
Imperator Asgarion Dawnwalker, Ruler of the Vestian Empire
Asgarion's entire life was spent preparing to become the heir to the Dawnwalker fortune. He is ruthless, cunning, snobbish, ambitious, charismatic, and skilled with a blade. Few dare to trifle with him. Although he perished in an assassination plot launched by Hestia, Asgarion was resurrected during Armageddon and returned to claim his rightful throne. Today, Asgarion is married to Talani Haruna, the heir to the Azure Empire's throne. He also rules the Vestian Empire.
Radiance Aster Bladebreaker, Queen of Thrain
Aster is a sly, intelligent, honest woman. Her zeal and ambition cost her years of hard work and toil, but it paid off when her parents married her to the godfallen King of Thrain, Hejong Bladebreaker. Aster perished in an assassination plot launched by Hestia. While dead, she studied soul magic and became an expert on it. Aster was resurrected alongside Asgarion during Armageddon. After coming back, Aster secretly founded a witch coven, assumed the mantle of Radiance, and expanded the church's influence to suit her schemes in the Crescents. She gets along well with Asgarion.
Queen Hestia Dawnwalker, of Revalis
Hestia has a colorful history involving divine curses, copious drug use, alcohol, and plenty of other bad decisions. These drove her to insanity. Hestia assassinated her siblings in pursuit of the throne. Vicious, violent, scheming, and cruel, Hestia was doomed to be executed for her crimes. Yet ... Ahellion spared her life.
Hestia was placed in the care of Arilos Sunshade, a mentalist who augmented her soul and restored her sanity. Hestia eventually married him. She became a war general and conquered Isandor from the orcs with Arilos, carving out the new kingdom of Erendor. After her siblings were resurrected Hestia was sent away to the wild, untamed territory of Revalis to found a new kingdom and keep her away from the family. She has a strained relationship with Asgarion, although Aster has forgiven her.
King Arilos Dawnwalker, of Revalis
Arilos Sunshade married into the Dawnwalker family. He has a long history protecting the family with his skills as a spymaster, infiltrator, and mentalist. Arilos' patient nature makes him a complement to Hestia's fervent outbursts of recklessness. He is coy, playful, gregarious, and a pureblood dragon who masquerades as a sun elf. Arilos' service to the Dawnwalker family has made him an honorary member, beloved by his siblings-in-law and adoptive mother and father (Veladriel and Ahellion).
King Hejong Bladebreaker, of Thrain
Despite bearing a different last name, Hejong is as close to family as can be. He is married to Aster Dawnwalker. Hejong is a human warrior who previously served as Ilisara's God of War. Though those days are long behind him, Hejong's tactical insights and ability to command loyalty are unparalleled. He is a powerful vassal in the Empire, the King of Thrain. Kind, wise, passionate and strong, Hejong is a protector and valued member of the Dawnwalker family.
