Hejong is known for his strategic skill in warfare and is often portrayed as a companion of heroes. He is the patron god of heroic endeavor and inspires courage in those who fight for compelling causes. Peaceful demonstrations, political rallies, calculated assassinations, and armies clashing on a battlefield are all within Hejong's domain of war. He upholds that war is an opportunity for growth of a civilization.
Hejong's followers believe in promotion by merit rather than appearance or popularity, and strive not to oppress the weak. They prize honorable combat alongside innovative applications of tactic and wit. In times of danger, many leaders look to Hejong for courage and guidance. While Hejong is not always the judge, he is often the one who carries out sentences, and thus his imagery appears occasionally in places of law around Ilisara. Above all, Hejong teaches that victory must be acquired at any cost.
Hejong is especially revered in Thrain, where the gladiatorial games are inspired by his strength and courage.
