Leveling Up
Level 1

Create a name for your character and choose your species.

Begin with 10 Hit Points.

Assign points to your Attributes. You have 10 points to start with.

Choose 3 skills you are proficient with.

Design a Combat Passive for your character.

Design a Tier 3 Ability for your character.

Learn a Martial Tactic or Magic Cantrip if you have enough Attribute points.

Design a Tier 2 Ability for your character.

Design a second Tier 2 Ability, or empower an existing Tier 2 Ability.

Healing spells gain +1 extra HP healed.

Add 10 hit points to your maximum. Level 10 characters have 60 hit points total.

Choose one: Add 10 more hit points, or add an additional 2 points to your Attributes.

Level 10 Customization
At level 10, you may customize your character in new and exciting ways. Swap stats, skills, hit points, and abilities for other boons; or leave your character as-is. Characters cannot have more than two combat passives.

Empowering Tier Abilities
You can sacrifice hit points to empower a Tier ability with one of the following effects. Tier abilities may be empowered a maximum of three times.

Increase the dice size by one - sacrifice 10 hp for T2 abilities, or 15 hp for T3 abilities

Add +2 additional damage, or +4 additional healing - sacrifice 10 hp for T2 abilities, or 15 hp for T3 abilities
-
Roll one additional die of the same type already contained in the ability - sacrifice 20 hp for T2 abilities, or 30 hp for T3 abilities
Level 10 Quick Build
Attributes: Start with 10 points, gain 4 at level 2, and 2 every other level. At level 10, you have 30 points total.

Hit Points: Start with 10, gain 10 at levels 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10. At level 10, you have 60 HP total.
​
Skills: Start with 3, gain one at level 4, and one at level 8. At level 10, you have 5 skills total.
​
Combat Passives: Gain one at level 2, and one at level 6.
​
Movement Speed: 0-3 Dexterity Low, 4-7 Dexterity Medium, 8-10 Dexterity High.

Defense: See Basic Equipment for details. If you're wearing a full set of basic gear with no material modifiers, here's what you can get:

0-2 Strength/Stamina: +2 Defense

3-4 Strength/Stamina: +3 Defense
-
5 or more Strength/Stamina: +4 Defense
​
With material modifiers, you can get a +1 or +2 additional overall bonus to Defense.
​
Magic Basic Attack: Gain +2 damage at levels 5 and 7, and +1 damage at level 10.
​
Tier 3: Gain one at level 3, and one at level 7.
Tier 2: Gain one at level 5, and one at level 10.
Tier 1: Gain one at level 9.
​
Healing spells at level 10 deal +3 extra healing. This is because characters gain a +1 bonus to HP healed at level 5, another +1 bonus at level 7, and another +1 bonus at level 10.
